Kevin Tromp (1993) is a writer, director, and editor. He graduated from the University of the Arts Utrecht in 2019.
Over the years, Kevin has developed a fascination for storytelling, with a strong emphasis on non-verbal language. He loves exploring the use of cinematic techniques to delve into the inner world of his mostly silent protagonists. One of his recurring themes is the human relationship with nature, which he investigates through richly atmospheric narratives. His films are frequently set in ambiguous worlds that reflect modern society, blending elements of magical realism, to spark reflection on pressing social issues.
His short films Vermist Kind (2023) and Moonrise Carcosa (2019) premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival and have been screened internationally, receiving nominations for Best Film, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing.
